In the panto, Aladdin is about to marry Cinderella, but surprise, surprise all the money in Evermore has disappeared. Aladdin is lazy and Cinderella likes to shop - not a good combination. Aladdin's mother, Calamity Dame, tries to help by employing Aladdin in her laundry but all does not go well.
Aladdin is offered help by Peter Pan, Aladdin's best friend, the lost boys and Sparkle the Fairy but when Calamity Dame falls down the well and encounters monsters, very smelly creatures and Cinderella's Ugly Sisters, the audience is asked to help.
‘Trouble in Evermore’ saw a host of pantomime characters descend on Medstead for the Medstead Players’ panto, as Cinderella, Aladdin, Peter Pan complete with fairies: Sparkle and Magic attempted to recover the lost wealth of Calamity Dame, hindered or possibly aided by brothers Stinky, Igor and Frank as well as Ugly Sisters, the Town Crier and the Lost Boys.
The colourful production came complete with songs, dances, corny jokes and plenty of “behind yous” and sing-a-longs, to help bring the entertainment to Medstead just in time to spread some festive cheer!
