This was a colourful tale of the goings on in the Arabian village of Murkamukka, a village uncannily similar to our own village of Medstead.
Of late there had been much thieving, mayhem and general nastiness taking place in Murkamukka and whilst the finger of suspicion naturally pointed to Rasti the Nasti, he seemed to have a perfect alibi as he was doing a turn at the Murkamukka's Got Talent show whilst the wicked deeds were taking place. This talent show was great fun, all the more so for the audience participation in the voting system which produced some surprisingly odd results. There was juggling, singing, jokes, a snake charmer, even a marriage proposal live on stage as some Strictly dancing worked its magic for one couple.
However, Rasti hadn't reckoned on the detective skills of Alibaba and three unusual looking camels. Caught on CCTV were a bunch of thieves on the rampage in the village, at the hardware shop, then in the general store, quite coincidentally called the 'Handy Stores' and also at the village pub, strangely also called the 'Castle of Comfort', the same as our very own. Next the thieves were seen apparently celebrating their spoils around play equipment that reminded me very much of our own in Medstead.
The villagers of Murkamukka were concerned at overdevelopment happening in their village but had devised a cunning plan to scupper the latest proposed housing development behind their pub. Their secret weapon? Camel dung! If enough of the stuff could be dumped there then surely no-one would want to live on such a smelly contaminated site? Should we try this in Medstead I wonder? Although camel dung may be difficult to source, I do live next to a cow field .... However, as someone pointed out, we don't want to put off customers from coming to the pub, so maybe not.
We are lucky indeed that Rasti the Nasti and his band of thieves do not live in Medstead. However, I for one would be delighted to welcome the colourful bunch of lovely dancers who entertained us so well.
